Kids’ Pool Inflatables: Must-Haves for Summer Fun
With summer just around the corner, there’s no better time to start planning for the holiday. When you have kids who are in school, surprisingly the most difficult part of the summer turns out to be the part where they get a school break; at least it was so in our case, with boredom easily creeping in when we’re not on a holiday away from home, or on the road.
Learning my lesson from previous years, I’ve decided to do some thinking ahead and find activities for them to do at home that are fun, engaging, and enjoyable. How about an activity that combines all three? Now that sounds like the perfect solution! Luckily, I didn’t have to think too much as water is always a great idea, especially when there are colourful kids’ inflatables in the mix.
Whether you create a playful water area for your children only, or are into throwing them a party so they could have fun with some of their friends over at your house, it’s up to you. My advice would be to take all the necessary safety measures, and more if more children come over under your supervision, like considering hiring a lifeguard to keep an eye on them, and preparing a first aid kit. That is besides making a refreshing station for all of them plus their parents with plenty of drinks and snacks.
Pool Prep
To create a water area kids would enjoy, it’s first important to ensure you have the adequate pool. If you don’t already have one in your yard, getting a special kids’ pool in the right size is your first and foremost step of the mission in organising a fun summer out in the sun. When you get one, placement is crucial, as it should preferably be on the ground and not the concrete or tiles to avoid any slipping accidents.
In case of a pool, as in my case, it’s essential to call in the professionals to prep it for the upcoming season of swimming, to be certain everything is clean, and in working order. Lastly, it’s a must to check the condition of the water, doing the adequate tests and balancing. One last step is to acquire the swimming tools they need, from goggles and swimwear, to accessories like vests, rings, and tubes as aids should they require.
Once all of this is taken care of, it’s time to bring in the kids’ inflatables for proper water enjoyment. To make sure you choose right, take a look at the suitability in terms of age and weight capacity of each option that’s more to your liking to get the peace of mind they’d be safe to use. Here are some of the classic options I made room for in our pool.
Colourful Racers
Want to motivate your kids to be more active in the water, besides doing the occasional swimming? Getting them fun animal racers would immediately put them in competition mode, and let them try out all the possibilities such kids’ pool inflatables can offer – from racing up and down the pool with siblings, parents and friends, to balancing on them.
Slides and Trampolines
How could one imagine a cool kids’ summer without counting on the good old fun slides and trampolines can provide? Mind you, though, these aren’t your regular ones, as the ones I’m adding to the list are specially made for the pool. They’re made to endure all the sliding and jumping with the durable and stable design so your kids could count on a nice splash.
Moreover, the cardio, stamina, and balance boost these water inflatables provide can even make adults want to join in on the fun. If this sounds like you, be sure to find designs that are meant for kid and adult use, and always supervise when children are sliding and jumping on them.
Water Games
To make summer all the more enjoyable and keep kids away from electronics (even if for a while), you should count on the help from inflatable pool toys that can range from sports’ essentials, like waterpolo or pool basketball items, to brain teasers such as noughts n’ crosses. To be on the safe side, I’d advise you to ask them what they’d love to have in the pool, as then they’d feel more excited about the toys knowing they had a say in the choice.
Lounges
All the water fun in the sun can easily make your kids tired, so equipping the pool with comfy and stable water lounges is mandatory. You’ve got plenty of options to choose from here, including regular water chairs, seats in a combination with canopies, rafts, rockers, and even hammocks. If you plan on spending some quality family time in the pool, getting a more luxurious lounge meant for both kids and adults sounds like the perfect investment.
